Dessert; Moomin cookies and Korvapuusti |
What a Wednesday! Our team of Finns got to prepare dinner for some of the members and new managers of Ryusei Fukushikai and it was a great learning experience for us all.
|
Grandmum's cucumber |
Vesa and Janita took care of cooking with some help from Pauliina. Kati served as a waitress for two parties, ours and another group of guests having dinner at Kiitos. It was a busy evening.
|
Reindeer, cream cheese and sour cream filling |
Our meal included some Grandmum's vinegar cucumbers, Rye Chips, hapankorppu (rye "crackers"), smoked reindeer and smoked muikku (small fish) filling as appetizers. We also prepared some of the famous Karjalanpiirakka (Karelian pasty) with eggs and butter.
Janita making cinnamon buns and Karelian pasties.

How many guests did we have again..? |

Salmon soup |
The main course was - of course - salmon soup. It seems to be a classic among Finns visiting Japan ;)

Enjoying good food in great company is a universal source of everyday joy and happiness. Good food makes us happy in Finland as well as in Japan. We hope our guests enjoyed the meal as much as we enjoyed making it.
Arigatou Kiitos!
